I don’t always drive to Malibu but when I do I love it so much! I mean, have you been to Malibu? It is breathtaking. My husband & I often joke that it is the best of both worlds for both of us, the ocean & the mountains all in one.

I got to document the most beautiful engagement. I arrived early so I could get into location down the trail. But the thing about surprise engagements? Surprises. She was definitely not wearing the kind of shoes you need to walk down a steep dirt hill in a rattlesnake habitat.

I was trying to be inconspicuous & take pictures of plants when I turned to see if they were close… he was on one knee up the hill & my lens wasn’t going to reach them. I frantically started clicking my camera as I “ran” up the hill, attempting to not trip on rocks, as I am prone to tripping.

When I reached them, they were glowing. It melts my heart to see two people so in love and so happy. Being able to document it floors me every single time. The nicest couple, beautiful on the inside & out… & that RING! She designs jewelry & it shows.

We spent 30 minutes in the Malibu sun, with the gorgeous ocean just a short distance away. I am floored by what we created together.
